Coaching can benefit everyone; it can positively impact your personal and professional life. We are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole, we can set goals, make plans, make decisions and succeed. A coach can help you expand your thinking. We see and believe in your potential and can hold you accountable for your goals. Remember: coaching is about YOUR goals, you set the goals and we work in partnership to reach your highest potential as you explore and create. It encourages your creative process to set and meet your personal and professional goals. You are the expert–think of me as your guide. We create a safe, nonjudgemental, transparent space.
The International Federation of Coaching (IFC) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole.”
What coaching is NOT?
A coach is not a therapist
A coach is not the expert, the coach does not provide advice, opinions, or recommendations to the client
A coach is not a mentor
A coach does not evaluate or assess
A coach won’t tell you what is right or wrong; you uncover this for yourself
Coaching is not about the past or resolving past experiences

Shannon is currently a student in the Coach Approach Foundations Training course. She has completed her Foundations course, and is currently enrolled in a Skills Based Practice Lab and Strengths Based Coaching (the second course in the training class series). She will complete her Foundations coursework in Spring 2020.
